MMA Prediction Metric Guide

Prediction accuracy is not one number.

A credible MMA prediction record needs a settled sample, a clearly defined scoring window, and probabilities that were published before each fight. Hit rate tells you how often the selected winner was correct; Brier score and calibration show whether the stated confidence was honest. None of those measures should be read without the sample size and as-of date beside it.

Blueprint MMA publishes those measures on its Track Record and keeps the current forecast architecture explicit: 33 voting specialists across 7 weighted categories plus 5 non-voting oversight agents. The published probability is AI-only; market prices remain separate benchmarking and diagnostic context.

Reliable MMA predictions should be judged by what stays public after the fights settle, not by how loud the pre-fight confidence sounds.

Current fight-week context

The next visible card in the public schedule is UFC Fight Night: Medić vs. Rodriguez | Aug 1, 2026 | Belgrade, Serbia. Open the schedule for current bouts and published forecasts, then use the Track Record to keep any single fight-week result in the context of the full settled sample.

What to verify

  • Start with sample size and the exact settled-fight window; a short streak can be noise.
  • Read hit rate against a simple baseline, then use Brier score to evaluate probability quality. Lower Brier scores are better.
  • Check calibration by confidence band: calls labeled 70% should win about seven times in ten over a sufficiently large matched sample.
  • Look for uncertainty, misses, and immutable pre-fight timestamps rather than a cherry-picked screenshot.

A practical evaluation framework

Sample size first

Ten correct picks can be encouraging, but they are not enough to establish a stable rate. Compare like-for-like event windows and report the full denominator.

Score the probability

A winner-only record treats a 51% lean and a 90% claim as equal. Brier score penalizes confident misses and rewards probabilities that match outcomes.

Inspect uncertainty

A trustworthy forecast distinguishes close fights from strong reads and shows how each confidence band performs after settlement.

Questions worth asking

How large is the settled sample, and what dates does it cover?

Were all probabilities published before the fights began?

What do hit rate, Brier score, and calibration each measure?

Are misses and low-confidence calls preserved in the public record?

Quick FAQ

Is hit rate enough to identify the most accurate MMA predictions?

No. Hit rate ignores how confident each pick was and can be distorted by sample selection. Read it with sample size, Brier score, calibration, and a complete pre-fight archive.

What does Brier score add?

Brier score measures the squared error between a published probability and the actual outcome. Lower is better, and confident misses receive a larger penalty than cautious misses.

Does prediction accuracy prove betting profitability?

No. Winner accuracy and probability calibration do not account for the price paid, timing, limits, or bankroll management. Market results must be evaluated separately.
